This is Rico, we know him as Charlie. He was born in Puerto Rico on 1/27/10. His mother was rescued and she had been in labor for a couple of days. Rico was one of six puppies born by emergency surgery. All the puppies and the mother survived. There was only one problem. After the mother woke up from the anesthesia, she rejected the puppies. All six puppies had to be bottle fed every two hours for several weeks. The puppies and the mother were then flown to our area and all were adopted, After four years Ricos family contacted us to return him because they no longer want to take care of him. Now Rico finds himself looking for home all over again. He is a bit shy at first with strangers. He is and always was the most affectionate puppy of the bunch. Once he knows and trusts you, he is extremely loyal and just wants to be loved. He is now 4 1/2 years old and weighs 10 lbs.
